Saving Cucumber Seeds
I have 4 large cucumbers that was reserved for seeds. I haven't picked them yet as I am waiting for them to turn more yellow than they are. When I do pick them, cut them open and scrape out the seeds, do I add a little water and ferment them a few days like tomato seeds or do I just wash and let dry and store? These are an open pollinated type. Thank you.

Either way has worked for me. I like to get the mess over and done with right away since the cucumbers are usually pretty far gone by the time I get to them. They fall apart in the strainer and most of the gunk washes away under running water just by gently rubbing the seeds around.

Put them in a glass of water. After a few days the seeds will separate from their casing. Pour out the water and allow the seed to dry on a paper towel.
