Roderick Abdul Aziz, the popular African American Democratic Senator from Detroit, Michigan
has just days ago secured the Democratic nomination for President of the United States after
a tightly contested battle. Born to an African American father and Egyptian-American Mother and raised in a Detroit suburb, the eloquent and affable candidate has from the beginning enjoyed high ratings from not only African Americans but working-class Whites as well. Attempting to gain support in
the Latino community where he has scored consistantly lower in the polls, the candidate is campaigning in Southern California where he is in a virtual tie with the Republican candidate for President according to the most recent survey.

A homeowner in Seattle home from work sick is channel surfing and stops on KTNT channel 12,
the regional affiliate of NCNN, the National Cable News Network. 'Celebs in the News' is currently on.
His day is about to take a startling turn:



Part 1( Los Angeles)

2:13 PM: Host:".....Some days she appears out of it and drugged-up, while other days she looks
normal and interacts with the paparazzi as if she didn't have a care in the world. She does however
have major battles ahead. For one, Tiffany has no legal leg to stand on, as her ex-husband is now fighting for
full custody of the children and has ammased a plethora of bizarre incidents captured on video by the
paparazzi to be used as evidence in any future legal proc/ -Hold on..... What?.....Hold on....
Folks, we are going to take you to the newsroom for a breaking situation....."

2:14 PM "This is Jim Teller at NCNN headquarters Los Angeles. It has just been reported that an
explosive device has detonated near the stage at a Roderick Aziz speech
in Los Angeles..... As you can see on your screen, obviously a scene of utter pandemonium and confusion. We are
trying to get details of what occurred, and if Aziz was present during the explosion or incident.....We
do see many uniformed and plain clothed officers trying to secure the scene but having a hard time
restoring order. Several what can only be described as wrestling matches are ongoing as police and Secret Service are attempting
to keep people away from the stage. We are not sure who is at the bottom of these various rugby-like
piles. We also do not know if Aziz or anyone was injured in this explosion. We now see more LA
Police entering the stage area, and folks, whatever is happening is still not under control. There
is what appears to be pepper spray or tear gas being applied to the 'pig-piles' of men on the floor.
There are now Secret Service men with guns trained upward, and still no sign of Aziz, the newly
elected Democrat candidate for president.... We are attempting to locate our LA affiliate KBHO
reporter at the scene. Julie smith is at the rally. Julie, can you hear me ? What just happened and
what are we watching now ?

2:17 PM "..."This is Julie Roth at the scene. Can you hear me Jim ? If you can hear me, we have been
moved to a safe room by Secret Service. I can verify that a shot rang out and Aziz went down.

"JULIE, PLEASE REPEAT THAT. I UNDERSTAND YOU TO SAY A GUNSHOT RANG OUT RATHER THAN A BOMB ?"

"Yes Jim, it was a gunshot. At least one shot maybe more. I did not see him get hit, but several
young people with a clear view of the candidate in front of me immediately went into hysterics. I
saw some had blood spattered on their faces and clothing but I do not think it was their own blood..
For a second I thought this to be a bad prank, but then reality hit me. I was brusquely herded backstage
with other reporters and locked in a dressing room. I am surprised my phone works in here. We are being told nothing
about the shooter, if he is in custody, or what is transpiring inside the arena. I was not watching
the big screen, but I was told the big screen captured the incident very clearly for those farther away
from the stage to see up close."

2:25 PM "Julie,...Julie, Jim Teller back in the newsroom. I'm going to have to interrupt
you.....Okay.......Okay......Oh No......I must inform the viewers that...that...that I am being told
the news room had been recording raw footage of the speech and this footage captured the incident
involving Aziz. We are not, I REPEAT NOT, going to air this footage due to it's extreme graphic
nature. The video we just obtained does however show Roderick Aziz being severely wounded by a
gunman at close range....God ,God, God......We are now getting unconfirmed reports that Aziz is being
transported to an undisclosed Hospital and his condition is said to be grave....Oh my God, I don't
know what to say.......I wish I could tell the viewers that this is some elaborate Hollywood hoax,
but as you can see by the continuing pandemonium inside the arena due in large part to reaction by
his supporters, this is real. These people have just seem their hope, their dream, their own 'Bobby
Kennedy' gunned down by a yet to be identified shooter. Julie, Julie, if you can hear me,
Julie, do they have the shooter in custody ?"

"Jim, yes I am now being told a male in his teens to early 20s is being held by the Secret Service and
Los Angeles Police. The teen has a slim, wiry build and appears to be of either Latino or Middle
Eastern extraction."

"Julie, that suspect indeed matches the individual in our video footage who stormed the stage from
the left or stage right and took the shot. Julie, we are now seeing footage of simultaneous
disturbances occurring both inside and outside the arena. Are you safe ?

"Yes Jim, we are safe for the time being I believe, but I must tell you we are very frightened."

2:40 PM "Julie, we are seeing heavy black smoke rising from a multitude of spots in the arena parking lot
which we assume to be vehicles set on fire by the exiting and rampaging crowd. Newscopter footage is showing
several fist fights between large groups of males and between large groups of young females as well.
I have never witnessed anything like this in my life. It is readily apparent that they are going to need hundreds of more police officers
to control this out of control situation. I'm not sure if this can be described as a gang disturbance or not, but the
combatants do seem to be amassed and fighting in large groups against groups of other race males. Where did these groups of fighters come from ?
Most but not all Caucasians exiting seem to be fleeing the wanton violence, and most are actually
breaking into sprints to where their vehicles are parked while at the same time
attempting to evade rampaging gangs of ethnic youth who are escalating the situation. Some
of the larger attendees are protecting woman and children from the troublemakers. Apparently no
weapons have been seen except for rocks and bottles in these skirmishes to this point. To be fair,
we are also seeing many members of all racial groups attempting to separate combatants and restore order. 20 or more Fire department
vehicles and ambulances are currently staging a few blocks from the arena but not being allowed any
further until the scene is contained. Live footage has been interupted form inside the arena, and we have
no reporters present there except yourself. We can only assume that what we are witnessing in the parking
lots is just the tip of the iceberg to what may be happening indoors out of camera range. We still have little
information about this incident, but because of the multiple outbreaks of violence after the gunfire, one has
to wonder if this was planned and masterminded by a large number of individuals. As one who has been in
the vicinity of and witnessed the aftermath of shootings, the normal emotional response is that of shock and
surprise rather than a large scale outbreak of physical, ethnic based violence. Hours and days later maybe,
but not initially until the shock wears off. Something terrible is unfolding in front of us and we are attempting
to get details as to the true scope of this attack and whether or not it is terrorist-related. Julie,
stay where you are and remain safe."

"Thank you Jim, we will. We will also try to get more on the shooter when we can."

3:00 PM: "Hello, I'm Jim Turner in the news room once again. If you are just joining us, we are following breaking news from Los Angeles where the
fears of many African Americans and other supporters of Democratic nominee for President Roddy Aziz
may have come to fruition. Their candidate is being rushed to Rampart Emergency with a gunshot wound inflicted by a lone teenage male who rushed the stage and shot the candidate at least once from point blank range just before Secret Service tackled him with a heap of bodies. We have no official word yet, but several anonymous sources have agreed Aziz' wound is, quote,"life-threatening."Several witnesses, and this is absolutely unconfirmed info, but several witnesses at the scene have stated that there is no way Aziz could survive this wound which they believe hit Aziz in the throat and in their own words 'blew out his Adams Apple' and produced a vast amount of blood on the stage even before the candidate fell down. A large caliber revolver has been recovered from the stage.

The scene inside and outside the arena is one of utter chaos and pandemonium featuring what has to
be described as gang-like violence between large groups of mainly Black and Latino individuals. How
this violence outside relates to the incident inside is yet unclear. There are taunting and shoving matches
along with multiple fist fights.The Police still do not have
the situation contained, and fires are reportedly breaking out in the parking lot and vicinity of
the arena. There is now what looks to be smoke coming from a large complex a block or so from the
arena.

3:25 PM "Jim, this is Brock Simms in News Chopper 8 above the scene. We are starting to see flames
and black smoke coming from a large restaurant and strip mall type complex across the street from
the arena. People on the streets are still running in all directions, some fleeing, and some with
extremely aggressive postures seeking altercations. Pan off to the left....There...What
looks to be a group of several men are beating a man on the ground and will not stop. Hey that's a
cop ! Jesus God ! someone tell 911 that a cop is being attacked right beneath us ! Jim are you
getting this in the studio ?

"Yes Brock, someone is calling 911 as we speak....Okay...we are going live to Rampart:"

"Jim, Chris Watson here at Rampart. we expect a statement any minute now as to the condition of Roderick Aziz..He arrived at 2:23
PM today with a gunshot wound to the neck. He is said to be in grave condition and we are being told
to expect the worst. We have seen many hospital staff coming and going in tears, with many staff
having to be consoled by other staff, so we are indeed fearing the worst. With that, here is the
spokesman:"

3:30 PM"......LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I am Dr.James Ryan, lead ER Trauma surgeon at Rampart General.
At 2:23 PM today, Roderick Aziz was admitted to our ER with a gunshot
wound to his neck and throat. Despite the heroic efforts of medical staff present at the arena
and during the ambulance ride here, I regret to inform you all that Mr. Aziz was by all intents and
purposes deceased upon arrival. We attempted additional resuscitative measures after his arrival, however
due to the nature of his wound and the amount of blood lost our efforts were ultimately unsuccessful. Mr. Aziz was officially pronounced dead at 2:40 PM Pacific Standard Time. Due to
national security concerns I have been ordered not to reveal any more details than I already have,
and will not be taking questions. Thank you and God Bless........"

3:32 PM" (Chris Watson)) Well, there it is. Indeed a very sad day in America. You just heard the report from Dr.James Ryan at Rampart. Roderick
Aziz, the hope of many African Americans and many other Americans of all races and nationalities
has been assassinated in Los Angeles, California, 40 years after a similar figure and the hope of
the 60's younger generation Bobby Kennedy was himself assassinated here. Also 40 years after Martin Luther King was
killed in Memphis.

5:05 PM: "Jim Turner once again in the newsroom. In what we hope are only temporary and isolated outbreaks of
violence in and around Los Angeles, there are reports of pedestrians being assaulted downtown and in several
neighborhoods. News of carjackings have also begun to filter in. If you are downtown or anywhere for
that matter, lock your car doors and use caution. It should be noted that the arena and surrounding
neighborhoods are being hardest hit by this outbreak of anger from who we assume to be Aziz
supporters but also many others of all races using the event as an excuse to loot, attack, and cause general
mayhem.

Due to the violent aftermath both inside and outside of the arena, authorities are concerned that this event may be only the first salvo of a more widespread and sinister terrorist attack possibly and I repeat possibly being orchestrated by the well-connected and violent streetgang MS13 or Mara SalvaTrucha. The last week has seen a significant upturn in rhetoric and threats from MS-13 members nationally the FBI is now reporting. There were internet forum references to a major event occuring in Los Angeles this Summer, but no specific references to an assassination attempt on a politician. As a precaution, the President has left a luncheon in New York City and is said to be headed for Camp David which is the nearest secure compound. The Vice President has been escorted by the Secret Service to the White House basement bunker where he will remain until the all-clear is given. We have no reason to believe the President is in specific danger, but all posssible precautions are being taken.

If you are in the general area of the arena, stay indoors at this time for your own safety.
There are only a few more hours of daylight on the west coast and the fear is that if order is not
restored by sundown, the area could see riots and mayhem that could surpass the intensity of the
Rodney King riots of '94. We are expecting the Governor to make a statement shortly. We can tell you
that a young Hispanic male has been taken into custody, and this male subject is reportedly the shooter. Several
police correspondents in the newsroom that have viewed the yet to be released video state that, and
this is purely speculation, the shooter appeared to have tattoos and close-shaved head that could
denote membership in the most vicious and violent gang in America: MS-13 Salvatrucha. Frames of the
video were frozen in order to ascertain this. The individual's name will not be released as he is
possibly not yet 18 and thus considered a juvenile.

How did this person get so close to Aziz ? Was he a waiter or Arena staff of some sort ? I'm sure
the Police and Secret Service are studying footage and staff rosters to understand just how today's
tragedy unfolded. Okay...Governor Lopez is ready to make a statement.

6:30 PM: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I first would like to send my condolences and express my extreme sorrow to
the family of Roderick Aziz. I can assure Californians as well as the rest of the nation that we
will conduct a thorough investigation of today's incident and leave no stone un-turned. I have been
on the phone with the President during the last hour and have requested National Guard troops be
deployed to areas of Los Angeles to quell isolated incidents of violence and looting which is being
reported throughout the city. The President promised immediate deployment of the National Guard. We
want to get a handle on this activity before it can get out of hand. Looting and Violence will not
be tolerated in California, and will be dealt with severely. I would like to ask that residents
remain calm in the aftermath of this heinous tragedy and lend a hand to your neighbor. This is a
time to come together as a people and begin the healing process. Roderick Aziz was a man of peace.
These random incidents of violence are not what he would want or expect from citizens of the
greatest country in the world given this horrific crime. Please stay indoors unless you absolutely
have to be outside. Stay tuned to your local news channel for official updates, and I will apprise
you the people of California of further developments as National Guard troops arrive on scene. We
are also in contact with FEMA and the Red Cross should anyone be displaced due to ongoing Police
activity in their neighborhood or area. Thank you all very much...

7:30 PM We return now to the newsroom with Jim Teller and continuing coverage of today's senseless and still un-explained tragedy:
"Jim Teller once again ladies and gentlemen.The fear now is that as nightfall descends upon the LA basin, the
very real threat of major riots and arson fires has also arrived. We are getting reports too
numerous to mention of street skirmishes and general unrest throughout the city. Police are
responding only to life or death situations. Do not and I mean do not call 911 to report muggings,
car prowl, fist fights, etc. The lines are overloaded and people are experiencing up to 10 minute
holds after dialing 911. There are also widespread reports of burning vehicles in Compton,
Inglewood, and other areas. The fire dept is not responding to single vehicle fires unless a
particular vehicle fire threatens to spread to structures. This is absolutely a worse-case scenario,
and we in the newsroom are getting a bad feeling about what could transpire overnight. As if today's
assassination of the democratic nominee for president was not horrific enough, Southern California
is now in the aftermath bracing for the possibility of civil unrest at a level never before
witnessed in the State. What's more, in a truly horrific nightmare scenario, Al Qaida sleeper-
cells, even if they were not responsible for today's tragedy, could still use this event and civil
unrest to activate and initiate pre-planned attacks on our
infrastructure by hiring MS-13 gang members and others as proxy tools. This was a concern last year during the widespread Brush Fires. All California
residents are encouraged to stay indoors and keep tuned to your television, internet, or radio for
up to the minute news. National Guard troops are being called up and mobilized as I speak. This
bodes well, for you may recall that there was a substantial delay in National Guard deployment
during the Rodney King riots. Authorities are trying to get a handle on the situation.
The Secret Service, LA Police, FBI, and other agencies are all being very mum about the suspected
shooter in custody. We still do not have a name. There have been reports that he is a young,
possibly teen-aged Hispanic male. This is all we know. We understand that another cable channel is airing
the actual assasination footage. We have decided to air the footage, but will give multiple warnings
beforehand as the footage is graphic and very gruesome.

You may be wondering how the vast amount of material about Aziz' life and various tributes aired
already could be put together in a matter of hours since his death. Well just so you know, material and tributes for most famous people are put
together in advance just in case of this eventuality. These tributes therefore have been hidden away
in a safe location until they unfortunately now are needed...okay....Well, we are going to our
chopper for more breaking news:"

"Jim, we are flying over a massive gang-type battle raging beneath us. This looks like something out
of a Biblical epic that would be filmed in Universal Studios, but this is no movie set. This is
real. We can see literally hundreds of younger males fighting. It looks to be between African
Americans on one side and Whites or Latinos on the other. Many people
on each side are trying to break-up the fighting but not having much of an effect. A very bad, scary
situation below us in Torrance. If you are in this area, stay inside a building or your home. We see no
police in sight. "

7:55 "Back in the newsroom we are getting more and more reports of rioting and looting. What's
concerning is that these incidents, unlike the Rodney King riots, are occurring in all areas, and are
not limited to African American enclaves. Smoke is rising throughout the city. If I didn't know any
better, I would swear we are watching footage of last year's brush fires that affected such a large
area of Southern California causing widespread damage.
