He took more than he knew

We were walking down the street. Morning Dove was so happy she was almost dancing as she walked. She was a beautiful young thing. Five foot 2 inches tall, long black hair and eyes that had a twinkle to them. As we walked a young man came out of a store in front of us. She said, “I have to talk to him.”

Running up behind him, she called his name. “John! John Paul.” As she reached out to touch him, suddenly, he turned and shot her twice in the chest. She fell to the ground dead. As he saw whom he had just killed, be broke into tears.

People began to gather around wondering what had happened. I had no answers for them as she hadn’t told me why she wanted to talk to him.

Shortly the sheriff came up to take control of the situation.
Everyone had questions but no answers until the doctor came out.

“Morning Dove was going to tell John Paul that they were having a baby.”

On hearing this John Paul pulled another gun that was hidden on his person and shot his self in the head, falling beside Morning Dove.

The doctor sadly shook his head say, “He took so much more than he knew.”

    The end…

but I'm left wondering why he shot her to begin with.
